Jane Blatt

Jane Blatt, who paints as "EJAN", is currently pursuing her passion of portraying the majesty, grace, and beauty of Florida's native birds in oils.

She uses palette knives, fan brushes, toothpicks, leaves, and any material necessary to capture the individual essence of each of her feathered friends.

Jane Blatt was raised in Sandusky,Ohio---waterskiing on Lake Erie.

She began her artistic career with a Fine Arts Scholarship to Ohio State University.

Upon graduation, she moved to New York City, earned Masters Degrees at Columbia University and Hunter College, and taught children with learning disabilities for 32 years.

Evenings in Manhattan, Jane studied graphic design at Parsons School of Design, figure drawing at the Art Students League, photography at the New School for Social Research, and experimented with calligraphy and jewelry design.

After retiring in 1999, Jane moved to Stuart, Florida with her husband, Galen, and their two cats. Under the expert guidance of Carol Kepp, a well-known artist, "EJAN" painted landscapes, seascapes, flora and fauna before discovering her current passion: capturing the majesty, grace, and beauty of Florida's native birds. Jane's preferred medium is oils: she thrives on creating lush textures and vibrant colors with her palette knives and brushes.
Jane is a member of the Martin Arts Council, the Art Associates of Martin County, and the Hobe Sound Fine Arts League, where she is a member of the Board of Directors.
